About The Programs Team

Seedstars Programs implements capacity-building programs for entrepreneurs in Emerging and Frontier Markets. We run educational activities to increase economic and social impact by supporting small and growing businesses (SGBs). Seedstars works with public and private sector partners in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America who are passionate about making a difference in emerging markets through entrepreneurship and technology.

The majority of our programs are SDG-driven and tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges like climate action, gender equality, migration, smart and sustainable cities, and financial inclusion. We co-create the best possible program interventions with our partners targeting startups and SGBs in all stages of their development:

  • Incubation Programs for teams looking to start their business
  • Acceleration Programs for teams with a first MVP and some revenue < $10k
  • Investment Readiness Programs for teams in various stages of the fundraising process
  • Growth and Expansion Programs for teams with multiple months of stable growth and product-market fit that can now focus on business and impact growth

About The Job
You are responsible for building, growing, nurturing, and managing our global online communities as well as overseeing and organising events that will generate impact for the entrepreneurs in the global ecosystem. You’ll ensure our online and physical events are successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints. This is a fully remote position.
Key responsibilities:
Partnerships and synergies

  • Support global community building efforts, including partnerships with other organizations and revitalizing the community of ambassadors and partners.
  • Assist program and regional investment managers and regional leads in community building activities according
  • Look for linkages between alumni and other community members to provide collaboration opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other community managers to align community building activities and connect different communities.
  • represent the company in front of community leads. Additionally, manage community and events for the company’s anniversary.

Community Hub

  • Create one database for each community group.
  • Create a plan of engagement for each stakeholder.
  • Implement community engagement measures.
  • Share insights on community structure, analysis, building activities, and retention strategies.

Program Management Tool and Product

  • Create a program management front-end
  • Mediate community sprint teams and promote a people-centered approach in product development and program management.
  • Own internal products related to community building and serve as a thought leader.
  • Onboard participants and alumni
    • Improve and maintain the alumni community management system, focusing on activation, engagement, and retention.
  • Organize and optimize the knowledge base for better user experience and community information.
  • Create the Founder hub, Investor hub, Mentorship hub, Service partner / Expert / Advisor hub.
    • Adding our program design and methodology to the founders hub among others
  • Mentorship hub managing, sourcing, activating, and retaining mentors, and collaborate with recruitment to pinpoint strategic synergies to take the mentorship hub to the next level
    • Mentorship hub automation: matching, scheduling, reporting.

    • Excellent team player with high levels of empathy

    • Extremely polished and straightforward communication –written and spoken– with different levels of stakeholders
    • You are extremely rigorous in following processes (even self-set) to achieve your objectives
  • Your Experience
    • 3+ years experience experience in community building, event organization and content management
    • Ability to develop creative, engaging and original content
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
    • Proficient in google suite and social media management tools
    • Project management, problem-solving and excellent organizational skills
    • Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management
    • Have an understanding of community building and management strategies
    • Knowledge of working with the following tools: Airtable and softr.io
  • Nice to have
    • You are either a local entrepreneur or innovation enthusiast
    • You are an active member in your startup community
    • Knowledgeable about the startup ecosystem in your country or region
