As the Automation Engineer you will be responsible for Robotic, automation and controls systems design, specification, programming, simulation and testing, and plant start-up assistance in all aspects of plant operations.

Your responsibilities:

  • Serves as site expert for a designated set of automation systems, including representing integrated needs in cross-functional and cross-site teams and may include some software development of related enhancements, supplemental systems, and/or support and monitoring tools
  • Design process improvement projects and lead in-house automation by driving continuous improvement efforts to meet automation systems health goals, as well as emerging capability needs.
  • Participate in Preventative and Corrective Maintenance Programs to improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
  • Keep track of engineering changes, update of all relevant documents and maintain all service contracts, and spares inventory of the plant automation system.
  • Interface between the plant engineering team and external engineering contractors to assure equipment and services are operational. Co-ordinate plant equipment necessary procurement, development, installation and project management.
  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.

Requirements for the role:

  • Proven experience in PLC and programming with any of the following PLCs: Allen Bradley
  • Possess Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Have 3 – 5 years working experience in manufacturing plant dedication to automation, electrical, Mechanical, electronic and robotic.
  • Specific work experience with GE Fanuc robotics system and programming is advantages
  • Good knowledge of motor, servomotors and servo drive. Experience reading and tracing PI&D drawings, Electrical drawing and Pneumatic drawing
